Overview

The Schoolhouse is an historic place of worship and gathering in Peggy’s Cove, dating back to 1839.

Purchased by Six By The Sea in 2021, The Schoolhouse was converted into an intimate modern-day rental space and performance venue, playing host to the season-long Schoolhouse Ceilidh, as well as a limited run summer concert series including headliners such Matt Dusk and Dave Gunning. 

Context

Taking design cues from regional venues such as Chester Playhouse and Neptune Theatre, we needed The Schoolhouse’s website to include features such as a deep dive into the venue’s unique history in the area, and an interactive events calendar capable of showing 100+ events throughout the tourism season.

We accomplished the latter using a sophisticated combination of custom templates and event management plugins, integrating our main e-commerce site on Square for the tickets themselves, enabling visitors to secure their attendance to the popular events in advance of their visit.
